Barksdale Air Force Base and Air Show

On May 9th and 10th 2009, the Barksdale Air Force Base Airshow will be presenting a show featuring the US Navy Blue Angels and Canadian Forces Snowbirds. Opened from 9am to 5pm with free admission and free parking, come and have fun with family and friends. Click here for more information.

Barksdale Air Force Base was established in the 1930s and is located on over 22, 000 acres in the north-west region of Louisiana in what used to be a cotton plantation. The base was named after Lieutenant Eugene Hoy Barksdale and has now grown into a major source of income and employment for the area.

The men and women of Barksdale and B-52s have played imperative parts in combat operations supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Their key roles assisted in eliminating oppressive regimes and destructing scheming leadership and training infrastructure.
